Prompt before Quiz

Rumidog, Please note that this was a comment to the prompt as of yesterday.

1. What is the exact formula for the recursive/explicit equation? I know that it is better if I don't memorize the formulas, but they help me with the logic.

2. I have difficulties when trying to figure out the number of jumps. When is it one less? I like the hint to draw it out, so that will surely help me.

3. -3,1,5,9,...
Write the formula and the whether it is a geometric or arithmetic sequence. Also find the next four numbers to the sequence.

The answers to this problem are a comment to the prompt.

Wickris,

There is no exact formula for the "recursive/explicit equation". They are two totally different ways to describe a sequence. I suggest that you read section 2 in the chapter to better understand recursive definitions.

The explicit definition is just a function equation where f(x) is replaced with tn and x is replaced with n.
