Here are my answers for the prompt. I know they were due yesterday, but since I was not in school Monday because I was sick and Tuesday as well, with no school day. No excuses, however, here are my answers.
1. What questions do you have on this topic?
First of all I have problems finding the difference in consecutive terms. Is there a short cut or an easy way of finding the difference without having to mentally figure it out?
I also have a question regarding Geometric Sequences. Can someone explain to me why in a Geometric Sequence, in the function for finding the nth term, you raise the ratio to the power of (n-1)?
2. What mistakes are you most likely to make?
Well first looking for the difference in between terms. I guess that when looking for d will make me loose time. Also using the function for finding d. Finally, after the quiz, I guess I dont know how to either differentiate recursive and explicit or rather dont know how to pass from a recursive to an explicit definition.
Example problem:
Assume that the cost of a Basketball loses 15% of its value at the beginning of each year. In other words, as soon as you buy it its worth 15% less. If the original cost is $20.00, What is the value 10 years later?

SOLUTION:
Tn= T1*r >(n-1)
$20.00*.85= $17.00
Tn= (17.00)*(.85) >(10-1)
T10= 17.00*(.2316)
T10= $3.9375
