Series Question!!
Can a series diverge with a finite sum? Its that I am tring to find out when the absolute value of r is greater than 1, the series diverges, but I do not know when does it goes to infinity or has a finite sum. Can someone help me..Thanx

MPooh when r > 1 the sum of an infinite geometric serie will not exist because as n incrreases Sn does not approach a specific value
Mpooh,
I totally agree with MC manzur.
MPooh,
Diverges means that the partial sums do not approach a real number, the series does not have a finite sum.
